Friday Dioramas

This morning we made mini dioramas using a variety of craft materials. We gathered shells, pom poms, paddle pop sticks, recycled paper and cellophane, and many other materials to bring our imaginations to life! Before the activity, the children spent time preparing the activity space and the materials. To protect from the glue, Iris made sure that we covered the table, and Adaline made sure everyone was wearing an apron before participating. The shells inspired the children to create ocean themed dioramas and the creative expression flowed!

The children showed consideration of the environment when preparing the activity through being conservative with their use of the resources. The children used their fine motor skills to manipulate their chosen materials, and practised creativity to express their ideas. The children also used their communication skills, problem solving skills and team work to support each other when some children struggled with representing their ideas.
