This morning the children and educators discussed together at the basketball court the relevance and meaning of traffic signs we may see in the real world (Go, stop, slow down, turnaround sign). We discussed whether it was safe/unsafe when we saw the go/stop signs and possible reasons why there would be those signs. Before playing the game, the kids practised what they would do when they saw the sign (go= run, stop= freeze, slow down = slow motion, turnaround - everybody needs to stop and run around in small circles). The kids played pop up tag, a tag game they already knew, and seemed to have fun implementing the signs into the game.
