This afternoon the children did environmental bingo while doing some gardening at the ramp. They enjoyed having specific tasks to complete while gardening and found a sense of accomplishment when they completed all of the tasks on the bingo sheet. It allowed for them to explore their environmental awareness and discuss different ways to care for the environment.
This activity allowed the children to experiment with their environment and practice the knowledge and skills that they have previously learnt. The children were able to describe different tips to look after the environment, tell their peers and the educators their own individual Earth promises, and discover the different insects and animals in the school environment. Examples of rhymes that were made up were "we put plants in the sun, now lets have some fun", and "i saw a bee on a tree".The children demonstrated their PAWS, by showing respect for their environment and working as a team.
