On Tuesday, the children took part in a baking activity. We made coconut jam drops. Each child helped out in some way, whether it was measuring ingredients or rolling cookie balls. We enjoyed monitoring the cookies as they expanded and enjoyed eating them even more.
We made sure to be explicit about washing our hands as it was explained to the children that these cookies are for them to share with their baking mates and the educators, and that it is important to maintain hygiene and cleanliness when cooking to avoid contamination between ingredients and avoid making others sick.
